OUR VILLAGES

Exploring the other villages has been very enlightening.  I find the Progressives have many viewpoints that parallel the ideas of the mighty Suffragettes!  It is refreshing to learn that their view on healthcare is that care should be available to all individuals; as well as advances in healthcare, such as the study of genomics.  Suffragettes feel that everyone should be treated equally and one of our main battles is to be advocates for the female right to vote.  I was impressed that one of the Progressives posted about Hillary Clinton receiving the Eleanor Roosevelt Award in appreciation for her work towards women’s rights, healthcare reform, and international peace.  Focusing on the success of a woman reminds everyone how important equality is in our world.

I strongly disagree with all aspects of the Victorians!  We have fought far too long for equality, and anyone who agrees with the Victorians is living in the dark ages.  It was very disheartening reading quotes such as “why should people that have earned their way to the top…help the needy” and “the reason why people of low socioeconomic status are in their position is because they were getting into trouble or drunk behind an ally.”  Victorian beliefs are absurd, and remind me how proud I am to be a Suffragette!
